Kyoto Imperial Palace

Kyoto Imperial Palace was open for public at few weeks ago,for a very short period. Normally registration is needed for visiting it. I have never gone there before,so decided to go there to have a look :)
A side gate to enter the palace.. we like to go in through backdoor...

Quite many people went there that day... though I think it's not so special..

Busy semester

This semester is so busy... and... same as usual,sleepy....zZZzzzZ..

Don't know why this jet engine is being put outside the lecture hall since 2 weeks ago? I'm just a bit curious about it and take a shot.

First day of school

When I met 宮内(miyauchi) at campus on the first day...

I:　　　　このセメは...授業のときに絶対寝ない (In this sem, I will definitely not sleep in class)
宮内：　俺も。。三日間ねぇ　(me too... for 3 days)

But then, we both slept in class at the first period of the first day.. I think it's not our fault..

Hanami 花見

Went to 花見(hanami) at 万博公園 yesterday. The weather suddenly became so warm yesterday.. and the sakura is blooming.. all over the park :)

In front of 太陽の塔 (tower of sun), which is the symbol of Osaka Expo Land (don't know that being held how many years ago) :p

Lots of sakura are blooming outside of my house.. It's so beautiful but just stays for weeks.. I like the moment when it falls, just like snow...with warmer temperature :)

Sch starts next week.. the era of Dota will come to an end.. I think..

Basilik

Found out a nice anime recently.. It's called 甲賀忍法帖 Basilisk.
The story is about 2 main ninja clans, Kouga and Iga, fighting agaisnt each other. Though the story is a bit dark, I think you will like it. It is just 24 episodes..could be finished very fast. You can watch it online at http://anime6.org/?p=187

Nintendo Wii !!

Just bought a nintendo wii few weeks ago, shared with my gf.. It is really nice, totally different with other game stations such as Xbox or play station. Especially when many people play together..everyone swing the controller crazily...it's fun!!

Bought a gun and sword playing game yesterday.. Swinging the controller until get muscles ache.. My gf is even worse than me I think :p .. When she is playing I am not dare to disturb her at all.. scared that she will chop me :D

A very special festival in Japan- Penis Festival

The original name of this festival is 豊年祭(hounen matsuri) , but it is often called チンコ祭 (chinko matsuri),which means penis festival. It is held in Aichi prefecture every year at 15March. Please don't have a weird image about this festival when you see its name!When I told a friend about this festival,he asked me,"does everyone has to show his penis during the festival?!" Of course no!! It's just a traditional festival in Japan which Japanese pray so they can have children and also blessing for the family .. You can see many parents bring their children to that festival..just like any other ordinary festivals in Japan.

After the parade ends, there is a 餅投げ event. The staffs there throw some mochis towards the crowds ..who is able to get the mochi will be blessed. However, I failed to get the mochi..

This is a very special festival in Japan. I think you should visit it if you have a chance :)

Pitching Machine Competition

Had a small competition in class to build a 50cm^3 machine for shooting/transferring a ping pong ball.. Simple rules-the energy conservation must be done by a 3V motor... and those can shoot the longest distance won. My machine get 2nd place.. by shooting for 12.78m.

Some interesting machines of other group:
Using a paper plane.. But the fluid calculation is too hard and they failed.

Very funny design..at first they plan to use water to push the magic arm.. However they didn't have enough time to complete it.


Nice design.. but lack of power. Result: 2m++


Simple but they have won...shooting for more than 15m.

There are some other machines but I have forgotten to take their pictures... This subject is quite interesting.. making soccer robots programming for the first half of the semester and pitching machine for 2nd half... I enjoyed the process of making it... but the presentation is very troublesome.. need to calculate everything...Re numbers..air resistance... but then the theory prediction is not really helpful.. :p Maybe my maths is too bad...
